Graduate Spotlight: Brittanie Rivas

Meet Brittanie, an Army Veteran, wife 和 mother. Brittanie will be receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree.

Belonging to a family comprised of medical field professionals influenced her decision to pursue a career in healthcare. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 2018, Brittanie decided to further her education at St. Philip’s since it was conveniently 关闭 to her family.

During her academic journey, Brittanie experienced the birth of her two children. Her first child was born shortly after beginning the program 和 her second most recently on April 9th.

The birth of her children sparked her interest to specialize in labor 和 delivery. “When I had my first child, the nurses were amazing 和 made sure I was well taken care of… I want to be able to do the same for others,”她说。. 

Brittanie will be transferring to Central Texas 大学 in Killeen, Texas 和 looks forward to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
